The district of Base De Cayambe neighbours below Chakana but unfortunately doesn’t seem to benefit much from being in proximity to the Beanstalk. The district was never designed to be pleasant but rather serve as the industrial workhorse for New Angeles. There are many factories, warehouses, and all manner of industries found here to serve their intended purpose, providing all manner of goods for the city and beyond. Accommodations and housing are pretty cheap as a result, although it’s also notorious for inviting transient residents who are looking to make it big or have fallen from grace. It makes it a popular place for both students and criminals alike. There are also a good number of red-light hotels, questionable shops, and stim-dens to have found home here.
The unfortunate district is perhaps known for living under the shadow of the Beanstalk, passed over for consideration. Despite the reputation, the NAPD does keep the district secure and safe. There is a notable orgcrime presence here too but they’ve kept their business as subtle as possible, although it’s not uncommon when the district wakes up to a new murder or a police raid on a neighbouring unit.
The areas of Neo-Broadway, Old Town and Mercado Baja make up the district.

Watts-Watson Market
Despite its name, this slum market has nothing to do with the Watts-Watson Industrial Solutions corporation. The market is located in the lower levels of the streets, sandwiched between the corporate headquarters and the Midas Arcology, operating beneath the notice of both. What began as a few food stalls that served unsophisticated street food soon blossomed with several other stalls and tents that sold second-hand goods. The market attracts a good share of people from outside the district hoping to pick up expensive clothing at rock bottom prices, often found under the pretenses of falling off the back of a truck. The NAPD often patrols through the markets on the suspicion of stolen goods being offered for sale.
The Trickster
A gambling den that takes up two levels in Mercado Baja. The establishment’s policy is that it will not accept any form of electronic currency and prefers to keep its business non-traceable in old-fashioned cash. Visitors will find an elaborate betting hub where everything is turned into a wager, including a celebrity's fidelity, baseball games, and outcomes of court cases. Some customers may end up spending hours in her immersive booths, broadcasting the events in VR as if they were actually there. There are also a few traditional games found in the form of slot machines and cards. The business is often filled with smoke, unhappy grumblings, and dour faces
The Royale Hotel
A hotel in Neo-Broadway made distinct by its deep red exterior walls. The interior features rather dated aesthetics of gold, retro decor, and furry carpets. The rooms offered here are cheap and they offer little beyond that at the hotel. It is an ideal place for tourists looking to stay in the city on a budget and have found the accommodations typically safe if a bit on the old-fashioned side. There is a security check required at the hotel before a room can be booked, but that doesn’t seem to be enough to stop suspicious persons from taking up a vacancy here. Stay at the hotel includes access to the bare gym, chlorine-infused pool, modest business centre, and a passable continental breakfast.
Volcan Ramen
Volcan Ramen is a popular noodle stand found across from the Royale Hotel, the owner is Francisco Serra. The restaurant's prime specialty is serving hand-crafted ramen with a level of spiciness tailored to each customer's request. The spiciest level available is 'Volcano', made with the bioengineered Jigoku pepper, and requires a signed waiver. The restaurant stopped offering free bowls to those who could finish their bowls at the volcano spice level last year as customers with the appropriate mods have been circumventing the challenge easily. Instead, all customers who have finished bowls at spice level 10 will have their pictures displayed on a holographic wall beside the stand and will often stay there for a few weeks. The victorious customers may also buy an exclusive t-shirt of their achievement for 50 Credits. A variety of proteins is offered with each order, including a choice of tofu steak, cricket patties, or gog stomach.
- Location Rules
If a customer wishes to finish a bowl of ramen at Volcan Ramen, they must succeed a Resilience (Brawn) or Discipline (Willpower) skill check at Easy Difficulty (◆) with 0 to 10 Setback dice ( ■ ) to indicate spice level. At spice level 5 and above, this is rolled at Easy Difficulty with one upgrade (⬟) instead (with appropriate Setback dice in space level). A roll results with 4 or more Threats or 1 Despair will result in an unbecoming incident, regardless of success. A Triumph will negate all results of Threat and Despair. Any bonuses against poison or intoxication will apply here.
