"Stay right there and wait," she told Daphne, even going so far to point out a spot next to her. There was certainly something she needed but even Lenore didn't know what it was yet.

Lenore took another couple of puffs from her cigar. "The mayor's office has a bioroid in the full staff now? What's come to this city? Those activists getting into her head?" She looked over to the other bioroid. "Hold out an ash tray for me as I talk with this one, would you?"

Without a thought, she looked back to the so-called representative. "As my uniform indicates, I'm here on behalf of Jinteki. My company's interests are my own, which includes maintaining civil standards for all products." She shrugged. "Though I can't say I have much stake in bioroid status beyond how it affects clones."

"Oh, of course, miss," the Daphne would say with a small smile.

The balcony did have a few ashtrays lingering around for use but she got the idea that Lenore didn't exactly want to move while she was standing on her proverbial soapbox. With the humidor secured beside her hip, she would make her way over to one of the ashtray stands with her other hand and set it beside Daphne so that she could enjoy her cigar.

Naturally, there were a few people on the balcony as well but were content to keep to their conversation. If someone was going to go off on a bunch of androids...they assumed that they were probably having a really bad day if that was the only company they could find themselves around.

Jinteki. The word appeared on the Lina's internal display and was soon filed along with the other information on the woman. Of course... that should have been clear. Update protocols..

The internal processing gave no signs of its activity this time, however. The synthetic woman (woman?) nodded at the human with something that was midway between a smile and a grin... and yet seemed slightly too odd to be any of them. It was at the same time easy and strangely disconcerting, polite and... smug?

"Oh, the City Government has been employing brokering and proceedings supervision models for one decade and a half now, miss.", she says with an... almost gentle voice. "I had assumed this was common knowledge among those in circles involved with the City's politics. Apparently not?" The slightly sharp tint was surely just a side-effect of the synthetic voice generator... right?

Those activists. The words registered were drawn up again and flashed in a reddish hue in her display.

"Activists have been increasingly problematic though, that is true." There is a low whirring for a short while. "Jinteki has been investing a sizable sum to avoid the effects of attacks, if my records are accurate." The iridescent irises look directly at the human's eyes, then. "I assume... is that sort of protection and defence of property" (the unit seems to emit a high-pitched beep as the voice generator produces the word) "also part of your duties in "maintaining civil standards" for the company's products, miss..."

She nodded slightly, the same pleasant smile on her lips again. "I believe I have not recorded your name, miss?"

There was another low whirring for a moment, but she says no more and emits no other sounds for now.

"What's that now?" Debra raised her brows at the question, perhaps only realizing that she might have misplaced her manners somewhere. Was that between casually hanging out on the sidelines/peanut gallery or finding out that she was a clone? She wasn't too sure at the moment. It was probably some instinct so that some suit didn't go around asking to talk to her manager, or finding out that she was the manager.

She perhaps barely stopped herself from offering her hand to shake. Does one shake hands with these things, exactly? "Just let her know that it was Chief Slee. The same Slee she probably asks you to dispatch."

"Chief Slee," she repeats. Focus notably shifting away from her though she hadn't turned her head in the slightest, the slight soft light of her left eye becoming apparent again as it shifts. A blink and the programs close, Nadia's attention coming back to Debra with a soft customer service smile and a nod of her head. Hands removed from her pockets she nods, "Note made. I will be sure to do so," she says, that same slight smile to her.

It's an ideal state to have them follow your beck and call. They'd be lost without our guidance.

The oh-so-glorious task of fetching an ashtray. At the very least, she wasn't so vain as to demand that Daphne hold it during her little spiel. In fact, she even said, "Thank you."

Lenore didn't look over to the others. Instead, she continued her little grumpy rant with these bioroids. "Oh yes, there're certainly androids in service of the government," she said, casually eying over her cigar. "But when you said, say, a direct representative of such a grand project? That's the sort of thing that's going to open up a lot of flood gates."

She tapped the cigar on the tray and let out a soft sigh. "Yes, I suppose if I'm needed, I'll take care of some rioters. Usually my job requires me to look into defective units instead."

It's easier to bludgeon clones. Most of them don't have it in them to resist. Hopefully we get another assignment like that soon.

"You," she said, turning back to Daphne. "Fetch me a cocktail. It's called a sidecar."

"Chief Slee," she repeats. Focus notably shifting away from her though she hadn't turned her head in the slightest, the slight soft light of her left eye becoming apparent again as it shifts. A blink and the programs close, Nadia's attention coming back to Debra with a soft customer service smile and a nod of her head. Hands removed from her pockets she nods, "Note made. I just thought you could have mentioned it to her as a by the by or something between her vitamin water and nutrient pill meal breaks. Anyway, I'm going to get back on my patrol and maybe hope things get interesting enough that I'll get a chance to open up whatever poor excuse of a weapons locker they have around here."

The last part was probably pretty crass to mention but she was talking to just an android here.

"See you around." She said with a raised hand that was a sort of half-wave before walking off.

The supervision model nodded and smiled at Lenore's answers, a slight grin on her thin reddish synthskin (plasteel?) lips as she waited for the exchange between the "retrieval specialist" and the Daphne to happen, a very faint whirring running in the background.

As the Daphne waited for an answer, she nodded again and took the time to answer in the same pleasant synthvoice as before.

"A pleasure, miss Gauvreau", she said with a widening smile. "And you mustn't expect any survey, no. Not from me, at least", he adds, her lips twirling in a grin again.

The synthvoice takes a slightly darker undertone in the next few words... whatever that meant. "Oh... Clone Retrieval for defective units - that is an interesting directive. And you can also take care of rioters? Interesting". The last word again is accompanied by a sharp beep.

"If you handle the first part of their repairing procedures... are you a sort of intern in training, then, miss Gavreau? Or is some sort of lower, less technical position?" A high-pitched, somewhat stingy tone is back here and there, but the voice is still mostly pleasant...

"As for my position - the Government assigned me as one of the supervisors for the Committee, to guarantee safe and correct proceedings and ensure the interests of the City and its resident are not at risk. The assignment lies entirely within the specifications of the NAG bioroid series, really, if you think about it", she adds with a thin smile. "According to the rightful citizens in the government" (another sharp beep) "who supported my appointment to the position, having it performed by an instrument specifically designed for the job may prevent some specific problems. Mostly problems dealing with individual conscience processes, as I understood it." A shrug. "But of course... that is not something I understand at length."

Some more whirring as the glow in her eye pieces adjusts while her sensors scan the surroundings.

"But then... you say you are not involved in politics, miss Gavreau? I assume you are here in your position as an intern, then, to assist clones that may be here as representatives? I did not know Jinteki had come to use them in that regard", she asks with an odd face that could be read as either naïve, or... saucy?

Likely one of the many of a hundred that subscribed to the same look. She would look over to Nadia and wave her over without great urgency. If Nadia had grown used to working for the executive and get a read of her expression, it seems it was either something she wanted to schedule or take note of for later.

Not enough to enjoy better cigarettes but that wasn't the point at the moment. "You're right, though, that I take care of the first part of any defective units. Sometimes that involves some Human First rioters trying to make example of one of them but, most of the time, it's when one gets a little too uppity and ignores its directives.

"But the thing is, I totally understand where they're coming from. When crazies in the government want a bioroid to take over part of their duties, well, it certainly proves difficult for anyone to hold onto their jobs."

The next puff involved full-on insult; she blew the smoke directly towards the ocular sensors. "Fortunately for me, I don't think anyone would be able to take my duty from me. Can't trust a clone to find defective clones, now can we?" She took a step closer, smirking with one end of her lips as she continued enjoying the cigar.

We're in dangerous range and in no position to strike back.

And if it resorts to violence, then it only supports out position.

"Like I said before, I'm here to represent Jinteki's interests. I don't know what they've been thinking about at Haas-Bioroid but perhaps you should report in to the company's equivalent to my position. Would make a lot of people's lives easier."

She shrugged. "Thing is, it isn't my job to send you over there. It's good when everyone follows their lot in life." With that, she put out the cigar and left it there. With a small smile on her lips, she spoke clearly enough so that she didn't have to compete with the ambiance of gala music and other conversations happening at the same time.

"Nadia," she said her name as if it was a command on its own, "take note of this for me, please. That was Ricardo Perez. I just had to endure this long talk regarding his network architecture division. He just kept rant and raving about it. At least one of us was enjoying the conversation. Anyway, he wants to meet in a few days to unveil what the division has made. It's probably a big waste of time but make sure there's room for this Sunday and Monday."

She took a sip from her glass and shook her head. "Maybe we can just remote it if I bother remembering."

The puff of smoke is received mostly with indifference - although after just a moment the activation of cooling vents not only in what would be an organic's nostrils, but also on the junction between the Lina's neck and shoulders, swiftly dissipated the smoke. The fact that part of it was blown back towards its emitter's face was certainly only a coincidence.

To much of the Jinteki employee ('wageslave?', an internal display showed. Mark term to assess accuracy of application), the Government bot answered with, well, nothing. The mention of reporting to Haas Bioroid personnel, however, was met with a raising of the unit's eyebrows (were those eyebrows?) and something similar to a sneer.

"Oh, government Units are programmed to never report directly to Haas-Bioroid personnel, miss Gauvreau. Despite your self-reported lack of involvement with politics, I'm certain you would understand why. Right?"

Some more venting as the organic shrugged, then asked for a drink. For her. A bioroid. A low whirring could be heard for a fifth of a second.

"I do report to responsible organics in the government itself, though, of course. In fact, the point of having me as a representative is precisely to not have to invest the time of elected officials and other human government personnel on supervision. You would not expect the government would actually hire a new human hand for something like this, right? So... if I'm understanding you concerns correctly, this unit is not technically replacing any human labour. And as I said, the NAG bioroid series acts to represent the interests of the government only - something that is harder to ensure with human representatives."

As she kept up the basics of walking alongside Elizabeth she was already sifting through and working the notations onto Elizabeth's calendar. This time she'd given more trust and both eyes lit briefly with a soft glow as she shifted through screens and menus that displayed themselves to her. Simple enough, as the eyes dimmed again to a more natural appearance only a few seconds later.

"Done," she says, that small nod of confirmation as she looks back. "Sunday might be forced to have some overlap. Would you like me to set up a reminder as well?"
