The following days in New Angeles are mercifully less hectic but not uneventful. The conclusions of the New Angeles Expo and the stabilization of the NASX both lessen the tensions to manageable levels for the mayor's office and the planning committee. Those with full-time commitments elsewhere are allowed to return to their obligations or duties until they are eventually called back. There is generally never a slow season in New Angeles, although there is an uptick in activity thanks to the prosperity enjoyed around the world. Those in the mayor's office and its aides continue the tremendous task of organizing the construction of the Docklands. Many contractors are involved and it doesn't make it easier when many of them are on overlapping projects to make this an administrative nightmare.
Our committee members are recalled on Monday, July 9th. The work is underway on Heinlein, although much of the preliminary work still remains and plans still need to be finalized. Mayor Alice Delgado requires each member of the committee to visit Heinlein during their term to put forward a public face and connect with the local community. There will be a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, July 12th, months after actual construction had already started.
There are a few means to get to Heinlein, which will take approximately three days of travel. The cheapest and most comfortable is going by means of the New Angeles space elevator, the Beanstalk. Much like a train car, there are several cabins divided by class in each of their pods. Premium business class will provide individual units with beds and access to a full bathroom. Meanwhile, the cheapest class is in coach, where passengers are put together in rows of seating. The first day will take passengers to their first stop at Midway Station, an orbital station, where the committee will have to endure the challenge of zero-gravity conditions to get to their next pod. Midway Station has several features on-site including leisure, accommodations and even corporate offices. The rotating centre generates some artificial gravity in specific parts of the station.

The next trip will take passengers to the Challenger planetoid, the counterbalance of the Beanstalk. Compared to Midway Station, this stop is far more pragmatic and functional. Much of the planetoid is dedicated to transport and the storage of goods. Committee members will be taken to a shuttle where they will be flown directly to Heinlein and land at Starport Kaguya. Earth to Luna flights still exists, although reserved for charter flights and express shipments. The costs remain high for this method and less comfortable as the experience of leaving the atmosphere is more immediate than gradual.
