Epilogue and Endgame Goals
After months of hard work and contribution from the members of the mayor's committee, their city plan proposals are submitted to the mayor's office for consideration. It is said that many of these plans will be used as data to engineer a singular platform for Heinlein going forward. However, it is the mysterious Jane Doe's plan that perhaps receives the most attention from the mayor's cabinet and much of the framework will be utilized in governing the lunar district of New Angeles. Law enforcement and education are touted as their strongest pillars while shuffling the other flaws to be addressed in the future.
The committee's funded stay on Heinlein is concluded with their attendance for the groundbreaking ceremony with a subdued private concert given by megacelebrity Miranda Rhapsody herself. While there is some outrage in her fanbase when it comes to the accessibility of the concert and her catering to the few elite, this is quickly assuaged when the concert is released on the Network for a small nominal fee. Ultimately, many members of the committee are released from their duties at this point with a few remaining as fixtures as they continue to contribute to the building process of revitalizing the Docklands.
The construction process would continue with fewer incidents under strict management of the city and contributions from the Weyland Consortium. There are some reported fatalities on the job, as well as some missing materials, but it is said that they will be meeting its scheduled timelines in the next few months with much of the building projects finishing within a year. The reception from both the local Loonies and the earth residents of New Angeles are generally positive with both looking hopeful toward the developments. There is a reported uptick in immigration to Luna and employment rates are on the rise thanks to the proposed new complexes. Mayor Alice Delgado's second term is almost guaranteed at this point.
Further appearances by Martian terrorists and sentient viruses are absent during the building process.
Lina (NAG Mk3-19)
After the dismantling of Bree's illegal clone re-sale operation, the party involved have discovered that there were three other clones. The clones are in a precarious situation as they have been originally marked for termination and recycling by Jinteki's clone warranty policy but were spared their fate by their captors. If returned to Jinteki, they will continue on their intended sentence. Lina-19 quickly stepped forward to see their return to Earth so that they can be properly be interrogated by the NAPD for their role in the operation before their scheduled return to the recycling centre.
The 'evidence' for this investigation would be unfortunately lost along the way of their transport to Earth. With Sadie in custody and Bree's ring no longer in operation on Heinlein, the NAPD was content to consider the case closed. Felix Cordova and his fellow clones would be picked up by some radical members of SAM and taken to Brazil in short order to join his companions. However, Felix would find himself inspired by Lina-19 and finding membership with SAM. He lends his skills with customer service to make a legitimate facade for the budding 'tourism' business.
Not content on just ferrying one group of clones out, Lina-19 focuses their attention on formalizing a 'tourism' route with the services of individuals such as Bujar Cani and other enterprising individuals who either support the cause or are looking for an easy profit. Androids would easily find a means to escape the city by the sea to Ecuador, past the heavily guarded border, and taken to various 'tour buses' to ensure safe passage through South America into Brazil as legal refugees. This will prove to be a shaky process, especially with crackdowns made by the megacorporations and the government, but it is the beginnings of a solid underground railroad to freedom for androids. While Lina-19's role in the government will give them some internal insight into where these crackdowns are made and provide some forewarning, they will also have to be wary of being discovered.
Leo Knight
Leo Knight would find himself returning to his duties after his role in the committee, liquidation and sanitation for the Weyland Consortium. Elizabeth Mills has taken an interest in Leo's skills after the few times that he has helped her, keeping him on close retainer for a few things she needs to do on behalf of the megacorporation and personal interests. As usual, Leo will find that the megacorporation has its share of enemies and detractors with enough arrogance to pick up more along the way. Elizabeth Mills proves to be no exception to this.
In between his duties and free time, Leo would amass arms and equipment for personal use. He would find this process easier than anticipated, especially using some of the existing channels in the Weyland Consortium. For a long time, the megacorporation had been shipping untraceable weapons to developing countries to create strife and fund some of their civil wars, as well as providing their share of mercenaries to the highest bidder. It was only a simple matter of redirecting some of those surpluses back to New Angeles and into a private safe house. With some of this procured equipment, Leo can do some profitable arms trading to fund Nadia's operation if necessary.
As it turns out, Bree's operation was only one of many in existence and many more would be found on Earth. There would be other rings that would be quick to fill in the small void left behind by Bree. However, this would soon prove more difficult than anticipated as there would be a few unexpected crackdowns brutally made around the city. Some operations would find themselves with a few lost henchpeople and several missing clones but no willing witnesses able to identify the ones responsibly. Even the Los Scorpiones cartel found themselves challenged by a mysterious vigilante, enough so that they put a temporary pause on their unscrupulous android organ grinding operations.
This will prove to be just the tip of the iceberg when it came to this sort of operation, Leo would soon discover that even some unidentified risties are participating in the procurement of clones illegally outside of New Angeles. They are either building a private collection or putting androids in various games for their cruel amusement.
Nadia Avaline
Despite no longer having a direct role in the committee, Elizabeth Mill finds herself with a mountain of responsibilities and projects. She delegates a good share of organizational and administration work to Nadia. It quickly becomes business as usual as Elizabeth continues managing her building projects, procuring resources, house cleaning, and the occasional emergency demolition work. The prominent megacorporation executive continues easily enough without any loss to her ambitious strides with the helpful Nadia at her stride. The assassination attempt and kidnapping incident have at least prompted Elizabeth to move Argus Security up on her contact list.
After the strange "vicious animal" breach incident at the Guayaquil, Nadia is asked to reallocate the remaining resources from Perez's project to other work within the megacorporation and sever all ties to the safehouse. With the safehouse taken off the record, Nadia secretly takes the abandoned property as her own hideout away from her work. She is able to salvage some of the remaining hardware and have it repaired, allowing the facility to connect from the Network while shielding herself from notice. There are bits of the virtual project she is able to find that have been spared of destruction. With ownership of the surrounding block seceded from the Weyland Consortium, people have begun to return to the area and this also draws the attention of some street gangs due to its nature. They are gradually converging on the curious city block.
Under the guise of the White Fox, Nadia follows up with her connections on Earth. While a small operation, she finds more than a few people involved in the process with freelance bounty hunters and a few employees from Jinteki who either track down escaped clones or falsely evaluate them based on efficiency, often urging their owners to exercise their warranty to have their clones recycled. The clones are directed to a specific recycling facility by the clone technician manager, Aleksandra Zajac. Instead of being recycled, they are ushered to a waiting vehicle under heavy sedation and transported elsewhere to be sold. The White Fox takes over the operation as their new boss and has them freed instead. She is sure to cover her tracks in person and on the Network that people are none the wiser that this clandestine operation is headed by an Avaline clone. Network communities scratch their heads as they are unable to figure out this underworld figure known as the White Fox.
Diana Harper
Using her connections with Elizabeth Mills and her vast amount of resources, Diana is able to convince the executive to hire Cassius's gang to work security around the Docklands to keep an eye out for Martian terrorist cults and other potential enemies to the interests of the Weyland Consortium. The Wylder gang is unable to find many threads but they keep out of trouble and steer away from extorting others for credits as they enjoy being on the sizeable payroll of the megacorporation.
With the mysterious disappearance of Bree, the Wyldside finds itself without an owner once again. Diana rises to the challenge and steps up to take ownership of the club. Some of the wylders have some misgivings at first about this but few dare to challenge this ownership, especially when she has some of Cassius's gang in her pocket. Much to her surprise, Diana will find the business sitting on a large amount of wealth as Bree had been funnelling the profits from her clone sales operation and passing it as profit from the club. The club sees more popularity under her ownership thanks to her connections and corporate ties, elevating it closer to a local tourist attraction than just a fringe scene. Bree's brother, Thorn, lingers around to help with matters of club security and watching patrons.
Wilson Clayton II and Diana's talks about constructing the first full-sized amusement park under the Magic Wonder World banner prove to be successful to some degree. Diana's family is receptive to this venture and takes on the arduous challenge of fitting all the rides and amusement to be worthy of the Magic Wonder World name. Diana finds herself involved in many meetings with the Thomas Group and their extended family, often requiring her to fly between the United States and Heinlen to deal with their internal family politics. Meanwhile, Diana discovers that Wilson had fought to keep the Thomas Group name from being publicly tarnished by sweeping an incident involving rogue killer bioroid mascots under the rug.
Jane Doe
The mayor's cabinet finds Jane Doe's city plan the most impressive after all submitted plans have been taken into consideration, utilizing her plan as the framework for the future of the lunar district management. Seeing as she is both a Loonie and showed an aptitude for the job, they offer her the possibility of being a distinct manager candidate in the future. However, Jane politely declined the position as she doesn't quite see herself in a life of politics full-time.
Jane does however make use of the influence and funding she had accumulated during her time in the mayor's committee, using them to find a candidate worthy of the title. Her ultimate choice for district manager lands on Andrew Waller, owner and crew chief of Waller Scraps and Parts. This proves to be a controversial choice, to say the least, as the gruff and brooding Loonie was a veteran of the Lunar Insurrection and unabashed about his pro-Loonie sentiment to this day. The mayor's committee and Waller find themselves at odds, with the former going so far as to employ various means to stifle his momentum. However, the election is done with the populace of Heinlein alone and Andrew Waller is elected as distinct manager by a decent margin.
Andrew Waller cleans up his act as district manager of Heinlein, just slightly. However, his sentiments and ideas remain on the forefront, enough so that the local military Space Expeditionary Corp and members of the NAPD are told by the mayor's cabinet to keep watch on Heinlein wherever possible. Andrew still maintains the operation of his business but does little else to incur suspicion beyond some conflicting interests, nothing unusual from a typical politician. Some bodies are discovered by the NAPD miles away from Heinlein without their spacesuits in which Waller readily blames reckless tourists and vows to promote safety around the colony to ensure they happen less frequently. He manages to procure a transport ship, the Jefferson, which he utilizes to travel between Earth and Heinlein as a very hands-on leader.
Jane Doe requests some time away from the Opticon Foundation as she delves into some lingering mysteries that have their attention. This causes some conflict their her arrangement with them but Ivan Ortiz manages to pull some strings to give her greater freedom to pursue some of those unanswered questions. As it turns out, the coordinated attack from the terrorists of the Crimson Dust cult is a bit of an outlier to the Weyland Consortium. The cult of radically augmented g-mods has not looked kindly to the megacorporation's heavy involvement with the terraforming of Mars and was aiming to send a message to hamper their venture. The cell that travelled to Earth had been mostly eliminated but had some help in coordinating their attack. Their ship, the Pandora, had gone missing since their recorded arrival on Luna.
A week later in her investigation, the Pandora would surface once more as it is found flying toward Earth before crashing in the middle of the Pacific ocean with no known survivors. The investigation proves too much trouble as the wreckage has found itself in international waters. Jane tags along with a very opportunistic salvage crew in the Philipines to find the Pandora. Ultimately, it turns out the ship is the Pandora by transponder only but not by the build. Jane finds herself returning to square one and combing through the numerous ships on Heinlein in an attempt to find a match. She eventually strikes an epiphany and cross-references The Jefferson with the Pandora to discover, despite some shrewd alternations made, it is a very close match to the ship she is looking for.
