Eva looked for a moment to Zeus as he nudged a pathway for Priya. Gaze lingering a little before focusing on Priya once more. The tone, it seemed the woman had heard something about her... and she wondered if her bioroid companion had too.

Still she maintained a respectable and polite smile, taking Priya's hand with hers and giving a gentle squeeze with the gesture. "A fellow member of the mayor's committee? A fortunate encounter then, as it seems like we'll be working together. May I be of assistance to you, ma'am?"
Priya's grip was perhaps a touch firm but not intentionally forceful on her part. Evangeline might have recognized when it came to cybernetic implants, there was that grip that didn't quite mirror the milliseconds of restraint found in more human (or clone) hands. This was at least something that kept the interns busy at Haas-Bioroid for many years as they continually refined that little detail to this day.

"No assistance at all. I just wanted to meet you in person. I suppose this committee is full of surprises, a net enveloping people from all around the city. It's not surprising that Thomas Haas would find himself there, by popularity and connection alone, but perhaps a bit surprising to see you on the forefront. Especially, when it comes to your radical ideas, Doctor Lux. I'm not here to change your mind, physical bioroids aren't my department in the slightest, so please don't consider me threatened at all. That said, you are still peculiar."

She did offer a glance towards Thomas. "You seem to work fast with your position."

Jane allows it, she'd had worse arm maneuvers from better people.
"Anything goes? Oh I like the sound of that, cutting loose from that interminable corporate talk and just being alive. Sometimes I wonder why people spend decades sitting in boardrooms just to earn enough money to buy a house they don't visit and a family they disappoint."
Slight nudge to Thomas
"You don't seem like that kinda guy though. After all, you threw the 'crazy' party."
She extends a long hand and plucks a drink from a passing tray and takes a long sip, although on closer inspection most of the liquid was still in the glass.
"I did get landed on the Committee. Condemned to months of paperwork and internal bickering as everyone fights over their slice of the pie."

Thomas Haas

"Hey, if you're going to be alive then you may as well be dead, right?" He said with a gesture with his other arm, perhaps thinking himself having landed on something highly philosophical. Yes, that did sound very wise.

"Hah, sounds pretty tough on their part. They should probably consider relaxing sometimes." He grinned broadly. "I admit, I can't say I had to do anything of that, so that part of the company is a bit of a mystery to me. Just another typical Friday at Chez Thomas, n'est pas? C'est tres magnifique."

It was Thursday.

That grin would stay there for a while, feeling rather proud of flexing his meagre French muscles at what he assumed was someone from that area. "Glad to hear and glad to see that it does have some very pretty people on board. I was afraid of finding myself surrounded by a bunch of people over thirty. Eh, well, I guess you could still be a sexy aunt at that age. Needless to say, we'll probably see each other more. Well, whenever I show up. You know, I'm busy too sometimes."

"Radical?" she wasn't surprised by the statement, but rather bashful, feeling that there were eyes on her. "I... never really consider myself to be radical, but rather following the line of so many who have come before us, ever since the ideas of artificial life and intelligence were discussed alongside the philosophy of human nature."

Eva looked down as she felt herself caught between a subject she was passionate about, and her innate meekness in such a social setting. A breath, then she took a sip of the glass of drink she had been nursing so far.

"Sorry, I shouldn't ramble, ma'am."

"No, please, ramble away. I don't think either of us are exactly here to party, unless you were hoping to cozy up to the heir," she said with another glance given to Thomas's direction.

"Well, maybe there's some slight exaggeration in my words. Not too radical," she said diplomatically but unsure if really felt differently on the matter. She wasn't exactly firebombing production plants but Priya wasn't going to be surprised if she started. "No, but those decisions come from a time when things were only imagined as a possibility than an inevitability. However, today's world is very different. I think we've settled that argument long ago when we began rolling out the first Adam models for labour."

"Oh, très bien Thomas. Votre français est merveilleux."
Inwardly, there were apologies to the ghosts of her Berber ancestors even as she pats Thomas' chest.

"I look forward to it mon ami. I think we're all lucky to have you with us in the few moments you're available. Speaking of...we're getting out to sea now. And I see a dance floor where everyone isn't going quite hard enough. Care to join me? I can show you how we dance in Marseilles."

((If Thomas is up for partying Jane is happy to fade out to that here.))

Ven enjoyed the rear view as much as the front view.

"They really build them well now. Still be better with a cat tail, nya!"

It was only a matter of time before Kevin would return with Ven's drink after having braved the bar crowds. The bioroid had the benefit of patience and presence, considering that he was at least coherent and not blabbering his drink order to the barroid. As he made his way to Ven, he would flash a small smile at Diana by a habit of programming along the way before finally making his way back to the jaccuzi. There wasn't a fancy tray or anything as he merely would hand the drink directly to Ven. "My apologies for the wait, the bar was experiencing longer wait times than normal. A Sex on the Beach, the drink, as your request, sir."

"Thank you, thank you," he basked in the compliments. "It's been weeks since I've been to Europe but I'd like to maintain that I am an international man with international tastes, hah!"

"What, on my ship? Sounds like freeloaders to me. Well, babe, you don't have to ask twice. I'd be more than happy to join you to show my guests how it's done." With that, he happily led Jane toward the dance floor. The whole deck could be considered a dance floor but naturally, Thomas would find somewhere where he could get the most eyes on him. People were more than happy to circle around Thomas and Jane to cheer them on.

"Oh," she almost choked on her own breath. "Oh no. Goodness, no. I'm sure he's a fine man, but... no." It would be highly improper! And Eva was sure she'd only be used and discarded by the likes of that man - too many had the mentality of that when it came to things and people a like.

"For the sake of philosophy though, I would say that the matter might never truly be settled. Long ago it was erronously considered settled science that some ethnicities were superior to others, which is of course a horrible thing to think." She chuckled a bit, still with a nervous tinge, but a bit more at ease with her familiarity of the subject. "Medical history and social history is full of many terrible things, sadly. And we always like to think that we're at least better than what it used to be like. Which is both true and false. Perhaps it's just in the nature of humanity to be... flawed?"

"That's very forward-thinking of you," she would say dryly on the matter. Priya found herself glancing off to the side for a moment, finding out that the Gutenberg had put some distance from the pier itself. Well, so much for a momentary visit to show her disapproval of the younger generation of Haas-Bioroid. Evangeline was perhaps her only ally when it came to the elderly age bracket.

She crossed her arms after sidestepping someone who nearly walked in her way. "I"ll agree that is likely the case when it comes to clones, who are intensive purposes just humans who have been bred a specific way for servitude. While some parts of the world have begun to change their minds regarding them, there has been no such traction when it comes to bioroids. They are programmed walking computers at the end of the day and I'm sure that medical history will have little to reflect on that. I don't think there has ever been a call to liberate machinery when the first computers were built."
