[Day 8 - Early Morning] Door to Door

[Debra Slee]

Slee and her guards would stand down now that the crowds began to dissipate, although her hand never quite left her gun. "Well, that's something...I hope you have a good backup plan with this investigation or Elizabeth is going to put you in the next building she demolishes."

Recalling the request from him earlier, she did tap into her wrist PAD, sending the obtained camera footage from all around the area that they were able to get on short notice.

"Yeah." Growling incoherently, Leo brushed a hand through his hair. After a few moments, he shook his head, turning to Slee.

"Why don't you give me and Lina..." He frowned, "-and that other woman everything you've got? We may not be from here, but maybe we can look around a bit more quietly?"

[Lina (NAG Mk3-19)]

#19's eyes focused on the man who seemed to be some sort of a Loonie leader as the staredown happened. At Leo's last words, the bioroid nodded to him and Debra. "Will be glad to help however I can", they confirmed, but their eyes were soon back to Andrew.

"The girl is the only one that went missing we know of... right?", they said out loud then - loud enough to be heard by Andrew.

Slee frowned at Leo at first, wondering if that was some sort of complaint regarding her methods. However, she was very tired and could use a break. She gave a glance behind her and beside her to check on her people. "We should get back and reconfigure our loadout. We want to be punching through flesh and not bone once the shooting starts. I'm sure it'll happen sooner than later. You know where to call me."

She fiddled with her PAD more and sent holographic projection in the air, linking to the PAD of others, to accept a transfer of data if they should accept it.

"Good luck, slumshoes," she said with a snide smirk before marching off with her armed squad now that they were given free passage to retreat.

"Leo, I haven't been the 'other woman' since a rather memorable month in the Maldives involving a polygamist cult. That being said, the beaches were fantastic."

"It's Jane, I'm just dressed down a bit, put a little less makeup on."

With a wave only lightly tinged with irony, Leo accepted the data transfer.

But there was still Jane. Leo looked at her. Then he stared at her. The moment stretched on.

Finally, he shook his head with a sigh. "Okay. Well. Great. At least I know we're a good team." He turned, looking at the bioroid. "Uh... and I recognize you from the committee." He frowned. "Actually, I don't know if anyone else was grabbed. Maybe Detective Slee will have info on that." Frowning, he began to review the data she'd sent.

Debra sent them the log regarding their search efforts and all the leads that they had. It seemed that they spent the better part of the night roaming parts of the metro tunnels and some of the maintenance shafts only to come up entirely empty on their findings, bothering a few of the crews to make it possible. The security camera footage was also procured and they did have cameras all over the station to make the effort rather daunting to tackle without someone dedicated or trained to comb through the data. It seemed the region of her last known whereabouts is considered to be a bad neighbour and lacking in cameras in a few please, especially at the metro station. The lower levels of Heinlein didn't have as much depth as New Angeles on Earth but there were a lot of hiding spots if someone really wanted to hide, maybe even more if they had cooperations from the local Loonies.

While the camera data was a lot to process, especially dropped on their collective lap unceremoniously, it was doable. It just needed time, time that Nadia could be short on when it comes to her whereabouts on Heinlein. Everyone now had a copy of the stream starting from Nadia's last public appearance to the afternoon where she mysteriously vanished from the Network. Leo had called on the help of Priya as well, it would depend if the group rely on her or manage the work differently.

To find a clue regarding Nadia's likely whereabouts will require a Computer (Sysop) (Intelligence) check at Daunting Difficulty (◆◆◆◆) or Perception (Cunning) at Formidable Difficulty (◆◆◆◆◆). Each attempt will cost a time slot, not counting the one where they received the data. Each check will reduce the difficulty by one to a minimal Easy Difficulty.

The people involved in searching the data, so far: Jane Doe, Leo Knight, Lina-19, and Priya Khatri. One person may make a roll and everyone may jump in as an assist. Priya Khari's pool is ⬟⬟◆◆ for Computer (Sysop) and less so for Perception.

The first check is upgraded via Story Point flip.

Oh, so that was Jane from the committee? She sure looked different... But well, more help was definitely welcome.

The bioroid made a face of discomfort, or maybe disgust. "I have at least some reason to suspect there may be others missing. But for now... Let's focus on what we have, right?"

Nineteen has got 1eP+4eA in Perception, so we may be better off with Priya and us helping at least for this first attempt? Or we could get Ven involved maybe XD

[Priya Khatri]

While everyone was off either helping out with mission control or playing a comet jockey, Priya was at work pouring through the camera data that was given to her. Checking several cameras and recorded footage was difficult work, even with software that did face recognition and tracked the movement of each Loonie and tourist who passed by. The Loonies didn't like being monitored but in this case, the over-vigilance and the need for the government to keep tight control over the populace proved to be a boon in this case.

Ultimately, Priya was successful in narrow it down to a suspect, a Sadie was last seen walking and seemingly approaching Nadia from one corner of one of the few functioning cameras of the lower distinct. Finding Sadie might have been a lead in itself but having all of the footage painted a much larger picture for their investigation. Sadie wouldn't appear after her close proximity to Nadia until she would be found later a sublevel or two higher. She was riding as a passenger with someone dressed in a spacesuit driving an indoor buggy that passed for what was considered to be a 'car' in the cramped interior of the lunar colony. The buggy would park itself at a corridor close to the Wyldside and they unloaded a coffin-sized bo together. Priya would send them the findings and the evidence.

However, this united effort didn't go unnoticed and someone took notice.

Day 8, Late Morning: Finding Nadia at Daunting with 3 Assist and 1 Automatic Success from Lina: 2eP+2eA+3eB+1eC+3eD 2 successes, 1 threat, 1 Despair

"Nicely done Priya. Maybe we could use your eyes at Optical Fundamentals"
Jane winks said eyes.

Leo gave her a sharp look. "Oh? You got a reason for suspecting that?"

After a moment, he sighed. "Well, seems like we got a lot of work to do." Glancing around, he began scanning through the data...

The bioroid nodded to the man, their glowing eyes serious.

"Some reason, yes. But... We'll find that out in time, I suppose. I would just assume this may be part of a larger operation. Just to play safe."

They wouldn't as easily mention where that information came from. Not for now, at least.

"We do have a lot of work. Both here and for the committee ... Hopefully we can find something out soon, though "

After Priya relays the information to them, #19 will send a message to all who were involved - thanking her, and suggesting they organise an investigation and rescue crew after the work for the Committee was done.

They would have the element of surprise (at least they thought so...), but Nineteen still suggested those who went to investigate be prepared in case this might be a larger operation, as they'd said to Leo earlier.

Hopefully there would be no direct conflict, at least...

Priya would politely decline the offer from Jane. She was close to being the head of her division, after all.

Admittedly, time was of the essence, especially if Lina-19 thought her tip regarding the underground ring and what happened to Nadia one and the same. If the investigators wished to pursue, they could do so here.
