[D7 EN] Dog Days

[Diana Harper]

"Thanks for coming along Leo. I just...want some insurance. These dudes are annoying, and they want to drive out a friend of mine from her bar. Hopefully we can come to some kind of understanding, crossing fingers." She crossed her fingers for reference, and winked at the other man.

Dressed in her concealed armor, and also the jacket she snagged from the Blood Vendetta, she was ready. Sort of.

[Leo Knight]

"No problem." Leo said in his deep gravely voice, giving the young socialite a nod. Leo was dressed to kill, in an entirely different sort of way as Diana. Although dark suits, even if just a touch wrinkled, were always at least a little stylish. But he also wore his concealed armor, along with his collection of weapons. And a single stun grenade, tucked carefully away. Be prepared.

"Right. Cross fingers." He echoed her dryly. Squinting, lines standing out around his eyes, he looked around. "Don't worry. Your friend can relax. We'll take care of it one way or another."

The lower levels of the settlement weren't exactly great, to say the least about them. On the surface leve of the domes and a few levels below, the settlement seemed to do their best to emulate the comforts found on Earth. This includes an abundance of ceiling space (by Lunar standards), bright daytime lights with a ceiling projection of clouds in some areas, and immaculate filtration. The underground city would become more apparent a few levels further down with more narrow corridors and congestion. The lowest levels would almost look like glorified utility tunnels with only a wall away from being exposed to the Lunar not-so-airtight rock.

Cassius' gang was found in the Juniper Developments, which was still in 'development' after a decade. It was a habitat complex with long narrow corridors. There was only a single level and more affordable units were deep inside. They would eventually found themselves at a house block circling a single grim-looking courtyard.


Damon

Damon was standing guard at one of the units with his arms crossed, his red eyes gleaming well in the dark light. He offered a snarl in Diana's direction once he saw her approaching. "Can't get enough, huh?"

[Diana Harper]

"Suuuuuuure. God, you actually think you're clever with your hideout, but I could find it based on your smell alone." She winked at the wylder. "Now move along, Cassius is expecting me."

[Boogiepop]

Damon

"You're lucky you need your tongue to have a meeting," the wolf-ish man growled. "Cassius is a busy man and he's in a meeting right now. Besides, nobody gets in without a search. If you're too squeamish for that, you can turn around and run tail, you're probably not worth the time anyway. Heh."

[Leo Knight]

"Do you actually think you can take any of my weapons off of me?" Leo asked, sounding almost curious. He wasn't, really.

He cast a quick glance at Diana. It would really be better if they didn't have to shoot their way in... Hopefully she could convince the guy.

Damon bared his sharp teeth and closed his clawed fists to show how irritable he was. "What, are you two deaf, stupid, or both? Our territory, our rules!"

[OOC: Either can roll Discipline against Hard Difficulty with one upgrade to out tough him or roll a Social skill at Hard difficulty instead to do so nicely.]

"Psah, tough guy." Diana winked at him. "You'd think lil' ol me would smuggle some kind of weapon in here to what? Shoot the place up, and break a nail or something?" She let out a small giggle at the thought.

Damon snorted at the attempt. "...Yeah, that's exactly what I'm expecting but if you'd rather keep your weapons, I could break your fingers before you come in instead."

Leo glanced at Dianam gauging her reaction. And then, back to the thug with a sigh. "Fine."

He had an awful lot of weapons, after all. The pistols were easy enough to find, but maybe at least one of the knives could slip through...

Damon

"Heh, good boy," he sneered when Leo agreed to the search and began to pat him down. The ruffian didn't exactly have much embarrassment on the matter and was certainly more thorough. His keen red eyes weren't exactly for show on the matter was he searched him, taking out any weapons he found, stuffing them down his leather edgelord trenchcoat in a short matter. It might even keep them.

[OOC: To conceal, roll Stealth (Agility) at Average Difficulty, will need two or more success due to his G-mods, however.]

Unfortunately, Leo was not quite as good at hiding weapons as he thought he was. "Be careful with those. Don't want to lose an eye." Leo growled as the man took them.

He cast Diana a dark look as the searching was done. This made things somewhat more complicated...

"Feh!" Damon would snarl with disdain when he managed to pluck the monoblade from wherever Leo was trying to hide it. "Don't get wise with us. Just because you reak of metal doesn't mean I can't find anything on you. Last warning, any funny stuff and I'll take your face next time."

The search wouldn't stop from just Leo, Damon was more than happy to do the same for Diana, taking away any weapons she might have on her. He wasn't going to take any chances, especially after the fact that Leo was quite heavily armed and he imagined that Diana would attempt the same.



As Damon was finishing up on his search, however, the door to the unit would open up and emerge from it was a man who just so happened to smell like oil and metal himself. He had a rather impressive beard and his share of tattoos. It seemed that he was wearing a shoulder holster with a belt of tool. He either was the exception to the rule or made a bigger fuss than either Diana or Leo.

There was another Wylder, this one with horns and red eyes, that emerge from behind him and put his arm around his shoulders, clearly to the annoyance to the bearded man who tolerated it. The wylder was dressed in a stylish black and red suit with a subtle snakeskin patterning on it. It could easily be assumed this was Cassius.


Cassius

"...it was a good chat. Please let Waller know that we appreciate him keeping tabs on us. We'll be waiting to hear more, so long the credits are good." The Wylder would say in a rather sly manner with the grace of a slimy salesman.

The bearded man would grunt and merely stroll off without a glance given to either Diana and Leo.

"Now, who are you?" Cassius would ask them, like they were a walk-in for an appointment.

[Diana Harper]

"Ah, Cassisus, I presume, the itinerant businessman?" Di batted her eyelashes at him. "Diana Harper, nice to meet you. I'd come to talk to business, if possible."

The bearded man didn't exactly stand out to Diana but she could vaguely ascertain where he might have come from. He didn't look like anyone who was local to the twin down settlements, perhaps a roughneck from the periphery or the Docklands? However, there was the mention of the name Waller, who most definitely owned a the parts and scrap shop at the Docklands.


Cassius

"That would be correct. Pleased to meet you Miss Harper, you are very lovely and clearly, I'm very blessed to have your presence. And oh, yes, your friend too, I suppose." He gave a sort of dismissive regard to Leo before giving a gesture inside. "Forgive the manner of our associate but you can never be too careful around here. Especially when it comes to some Earthers and their liberal use of firearms. You and I know that we'd rather not have nasty hull breach around here. However, I digress, please, step into my office. Damon, watch the door."


Damon

Damon merely grunted at the command and returned to where he was, this time with most weapons.

Cassius's office wasn't exactly much, it was just a living room with a few chairs made of pleather material. The apartment was a bit of a mess with the wylder gang making their own, everyone being tough but nobody cleaning after themselves. There were a few boxes around, they looked like rations and several drums of water. There were a few other crates of things, old computer parts and various other odds and ends that were likely stolen, to be sold later. A few of Cassius's people stood around, all wylders with different animalistic features to them, four in all. Cassius would make his way over to his favourite armchair and slum down unceremoniously, gesturing the two to sit on the couch.

"So, yes let's get to business, I imagine this is regarding the Wyldside unpleasantness."

As usual, Leo wasn't entirely sure what the person who'd engaged his services wanted. He was just there to provide backup. And so, he kept his expression blank as he sat down as indicated. While also glancing around, looking for possible weapons.

[Diana Harper]

"Ah yes. this is my associate...Sir Lancelot." She let out a low chuckle. "He's here as...well, for arm candy, truly."

She leaned back, pulling the Blood Vendetta jacket closer on herself. "Exactly. My dear friend Bree has revitalized the place, and I'd love to see what she can do without having to pay for your understandable protection fees. I understand that you had to relocate due to outside circumstances."

She leaned forward. "What I'd like to know is, would you be open to moving back to the Docklands. Perhaps with some opportunities as well."

Leo did his best to look like arm candy, which mostly meant not frowning too deeply, so the lines in his face only stood out a bit.

He did still give Di a half-amused, half-resigned look.

Cassius's gang lived in something looking like a college dorm sty and didn't go the extra effort in hiding what they had for weapons. They had a few bats and blades laying about as their weapons but admittedly had a few guns sitting around on the dining room table. Guns weren't exactly popular with the Loonies recreationally, especially when the bullets had to go somewhere and they were wary of hull breaches. If they did use guns, it was typically small velocity arms from Leo could see were just low calibre handguns and shotguns with buckshot.


Cassius

Cassius did take notice of the jacket from Diana. It wasn't exactly a local gang or one that ever stepped foot on Luna for that matter, but they were a gang in New Angeles nevertheless. "I see that Bree has very good friends and you really flatter her...but I choose to disagree with that opinion. It was only by bare technicalities that Bree found herself the owner of Wyldside and she's not exactly a fit owner at that. You say revitalize but she's really been favouring the tourists and...well, non-wylders more. I'd say that our return here is really going back to our roots and a time where we were the protectors of Wyldside and all Wylderkind."

He gave a hapless shrug and gestured around the room. "Of course, my operation doesn't come cheap without some overhead that needs to be paid for and we don't work for free. She has more than enough credits to spend with her ownership, Bree has been very enterprising. If we're not going to be the owners, we may as well be stakeholders, so to speak. Wyldside only existed because of people like us. The Docklands has been admittedly passable when it comes to opportunities...but I'd like to think that perhaps our real home is at the Wyldside."

As the meeting got underway, there was a notice that came from Leo's PAD (or potentially his cybereyes too) as it seem that Chief Slee was giving him a call...
