[Day 8 - Late Afternoon] The Getaway

As all of the madness in the streets was happening and reports that megacorporate thugs were harassing the local populace, the cyborg and his helmeted leader decided to take the utility tunnels to the upper levels. It was the long way around the lunar colony but they did get a headstart above the others. Eventually, they did find their way to the garage where they kept their fuelled buggy for travelling between settlements. The sooner they deliver the product, the sooner they can put all of this madness behind them. Hopefully, Sadie would have found Felix and tie this loose end. Even if she didn't, where was an android going to go in the middle of Luna with no owners?

The cyborg and his leader were dressed for a moon drive, although their vehicle was fully enclosed for their passengers. There was the idea if they weren't cooperative this time, they could just open the doors and let Luna sort them out as a final resort. They'd rather keep the credits that they were worth if they could help it.

However, there were multiple ways to intercept them, especially if they weren't taking the utility tunnels.

[Jane Doe]

Jane had led the party through the surprisingly spacious ventilation system of the upper levels. In past times some rulers had even got off the oxygen to folks below, but now they were mainly cramped tunnels of rushing hot and cold winds.

Thankfully, they were also a pretty direct way to get around and so just as the evildoers were approaching their buggy Jane had opened up a a ground level airvent into the garage. It was time to take these punks down.

[Lina (NAG Mk3-19)]

Nineteen followed Jane as closely as they could - although they were probably quite a few steps behind considering the Loonie's quick, agile steps.

When people began to enter the garage, both of the culprits spin around to face them. They had hoped it was Sadie, it was not Sadie. However, they were just two people with some (not-really) refurbished living appliances in the back of their vehicle. There was no cause for immediate suspicion.

"sOrRy, YoU HaVe tHe wRoNg gArAgE. wE'Re jUsT AbOuT To hEaD OuT." One of them would say with a built-in voice changer in their suit that made them sound rather distorted, almost glitched out, as they spoke. There was a gesture given to the garage door. It would be rather inconvenient if they loitered around when they headed out.



"Hey, beat it. Try next door." The other would say bluntly.

[Leo Knight]

Leo slid out to join the other two.

"That's not what Sadie said." He said, his voice rough and cold. He studied the two through narrowed eyes, judging their reactions.

[Boogiepop]

There was an awkward pause on that note at the mention of Sadie before the helmeted one would raise their hands to indicate some desire to deescalate the conflict.

"...ThIs lOoKs bAd bUt wE CaN MaKe iT WoRtH YoUr wHiLe. ThEsE ArE JuSt cLoNeS We'rE ReSeLlInG. WE CaN GivE yOU a CuT. mOsT Of tHeSe cLoNeS ArE CoVeReD UnDeR A WaRrAnTy pLaN Or iNsUrAnCe, AnYwAy." They offered.

Leo scowled. "Goddamn. It's bad enough hearing that sort of shit from the corps. But maybe corps aren't really the problem."

He shook his head. "One chance. Give us the girl. Nadia." He didn't draw. Not yet. He knew he didn't need to, not unless they started to move.

[Boogiepop]

There was a moment of silence as they considered their options. Three on two. Starting a gunfight when they were one layer away from space seemed a bit silly, even if they were dressed for it. All they had was one stun pistol between them too.

"OKaY, yOU gOt iT," they said and gestured to their goon.



The other gave a grunt and hit the switch on the back of the buggy, which depressurized and opened the storage compartment. Inside, a Tenma and Nadia would be founded huddled, both of their hands were tied.

Keeping one eye (the cybernetic one) on the two of them, Leo moved forward, pulling out a vibroknife to cut Nadia free.

"You okay?" He asked. After a moment, he cut the other clone free as well. They hadn't discussed it, but these guys seemed like assholes.

[Nadia Avaline]

A familiar voice, cut free, it was something of a blur still but slowly she manages with Leo's help to get herself up enough to be able to look around. Taking her moment to blink a few times in the new light of the room she found herself in, each of Nadia's hands feel the skin where the snap-locks had been adhered. Resting on her face was a slight bruise from the earlier retribution she'd faced. More strangely perhaps was the slight smile she wore as she gave Leo a brief nod.

"I am okay. It is good to see you again, Mr. Knight," she says, with some level of her usual professionalism despite the moment.

Leo smiled at that. "You too, kid." He said.

His smile turned into a frown as he leaned closer. "Did you tell them anything?" It was a whisper, just between the two of them.

[Boogiepop]

The Tenma clone would accept the freedom but it was hard to lose that contact confused look from his face, like in his portrait. So, he wasn't going to get an owner now? He was so very confused about what was happening here.

However, there was another pair who would be very eager for freedom...

Had they known that Nadia had such adamant owners, they probably wouldn't have bothered taking her in the first place! Wasn't Sadie supposed to vet these things? Then again, the clone retrieval service was never this aggressive.

"sORRy for the MIsUndeSTandING," they said calmly, like it was just a minor mistake on their part. "i BeLIeVe wE cAN gO NOw?"

In response, Leo looked at Nadia. It was probably the first time the clone had ever held someone's life in her hands.

Leo waited.

[Nadia Avaline]

Nadia was still, likely to be expected, slow on the draw. As Leo asked his original question her gaze shifted slowly over toward the pair, and then returned to Leo. Considering herself for a moment perhaps but the slight half-lid to her eyes betrayed the fact she was merely exhausted from the whole of the experience. Holding herself up by the whatever edge she might be able to find a hold against, she focused on Leo.

"The other, Sadie, did not seem to recognize who Miss Mills was and they did not ask me of anything at all. I do not.." she shakes her head, eyes squinting. After the spell she takes a moment to herself, looking around the room at all the faces whom might be present. Brow furrowing as she turns to look back to Leo, "I would like to know if they still have Felix. A Cordova series clone that was also kept by them in a similar manner."

Seeing the Weyland operative handle the situation without a fight, the bioroid kept on the background - for now, at least.

They waited for Nadia's answer, eyes shifting from them to the Tenma clone, then to the man and the masked person. A low whirring might be noticeable to those closest, but for now they kept quiet.

For now.

"Felix is safe, miss Nadia", the bioroid would answer. "As is miss Malloy."

The bioroid's eyes didn't leave the pair of kidnappers for one moment.

"It Was OUr MiStakE TO Get too aMBitiouS." The helmeted one merely said on the matter as they stood awkwardly for their judgement. This Avaline had some very important owners, it seemed. They perhaps still didn't know how important. If Slee got here before them, however, that would have been very obvious.

[Jane Doe]

Jane is visibly unimpressed.

[Nadia Avaline]

Breaking her attention from Leo for the moment she'd glance over toward Lina with a very-brief-smile and then nod. Turning the attention back she'd focus on the individual hiding behind their mask. Furrowing her brow for the moment she considers, then turns to Leo. Looking to him with a purpose, "I believe they should remain. Mr. Knight, may I inquire something with you?" she asks, and then shifts herself forward a bit so her feet might touch the ground.

A little wobbly, she'd unconsciously seek support against the vehicle.

Leo nodded. "Go ahead, Nadia." His chromed and gloved hand came out to steady her just a bit.

He, too, kept an eye on the two, ready for trouble.
