[Day 8 - Late Afternoon] The Getaway

[Nadia Avaline]

Nadia was eased by the steadying, following she would lead him enough away that she might speak more privately, not keen on doing so as publicly as prior with so many unfamiliar faces. Taking to that space half across the room she would glance over Leo's shoulder once more at the others. Jane, a woman she wasn't all too familiar with at all and the bioroid she barely knew.

Looking back to him she would lower her voice, speaking softly, "These two are unkind people, Mr. Knight. They took the others from Earth, and brought them here. I.. think letting them go would only hurt others," she'd say, and then look to him. An uncertainty to her that was almost too human to be real.

"But I would like to know more about them," she says, a touch more certainty.

[Leo Knight]

Leo frowned, first at Nadia, then at the two... unkind people. Assholes. Whatever they were. She was right, of course. The question was, how much of his concern was that? He was pretty sure they'd never try to mess with Nadia again, or possibly anything related to Weyland...

Closing his eyes, he shook his head. It wasn't a denial, at least not of her words. Corps were always considering things as not their problem. Or, as they might put it, they were not liable for something. How long before they'd say that about him?

Slowly, he nodded. "Okay. You can ask. But be careful, okay? If trouble starts, well... I don't think you can breathe outside any better than I can." Leo turned, angling his body so that Nadia had a clear line to the two assholes. He'd keep pace with her if she walked closer.

He also sent Slee another message:

Nadia didn't step forward, not right away. Looking to Leo for a brief while before she focused back over toward the two individuals whom just a few moments ago were in control of the situation. Strange as it was, things were coming up Nadia now. Stepping forward with Leo at her side she'd cross her hands in front of herself down by her waist as she usually did. There was a noticeable slack to them and she was far from being as typically prim and proper as usual.

"Miss Mills would wish for your names, I believe," she says, looking between the two but focusing on the masked individual.

[Debra Slee]

Slee didn't send too much of a message to Leo but more of a live report of what she was doing on her end. It seems that she had gotten herself a dropship inbound to catch the criminals in the case they made it out of the garage in their buggy with a squad converging on their position. The ship was going to be here any moment while the squad would take a few more minutes as they didn't have Jane's wily navigation of the interior of the dome.

Bill Adams

The cyborg man gave a nonchalant shrug at this, clearly not seeing any harm in the formalities on the matter. "I'm Bill, Bill Adams. I used to work in mining."

The other one was perhaps more guarded and cautious about this, especially now that this clone seemed to wield the power strangely enough. "thaT'S Not iMpORTaNt. cAn WE gO now?"

[Nadia Avaline]

"Thank you, Mr. Adams," she says, a slight inclination of her head as she'd seen granted to individuals who were either far more important or greatly inferior to Elizabeth at the conclusion of meetings. Nadia's focus returns to the woman. Breathing steadily, trying to maintain that composure despite the tremendous urge she felt to find a corner and lay down.

"Miss Mills will consider it very important, I am certain. Unless you would wish to speak with her yourself on the matter?" she asks, a very brief smile on her expression but she stifles it soon after. Turning to look toward Leo, a hand coming to touch her own forearm where her PAD usually rested, "I would also require the items you took. Miss Mills would not be happy with needing to fund replacements. Restitution is in order."

"..." The person was rather mum about giving their name away.

Regarding the PAD she brought up, they would mention, "iT was ThROwn oNto The tRAIn trACkS WhEN We Took YOU, it's gone nOw. I'm SURe You caN BUY AnoThEr, RiGHt?"

Nadia took half a minute, considering what had been said. Looking to Leo she considers even a few seconds more but finally she looks back to the individual only to break contact with where their eyes should be. Furrowing her brow she shakes her head. Returning, "If you give me your name, and remove your helmet. I will see that Mr. Knight allows you to leave."

[Lina (NAG Mk3-19)]

The eyes of the bioroid who kept mostly quiet at the background glowed brighter, then went darker again as one of the pair gave them their name. A low whirring indicated they had probably recorded the name and started some sort of search for it, and their eyes soon locked in to the cyborg as if waiting for their name as well.

Just to make sure, they took a step closer. "It would be important", the female synthvoice said, more unnaturally than usual. Some uncomfortably sharp tones suggested they were rather serious. "As would some more questions. You have much to gain by being cooperative". 'And much to loose by not being' was possibly implied, but not clearly stated.

[Lina (NAG Mk3-19)]

Nadia took half a minute, considering what had been said. Looking to Leo she considers even a few seconds more but finally she looks back to the individual only to break contact with where their eyes should be. Furrowing her brow she shakes her head. Returning, "If you give me your name, and remove your helmet. I will see that Mr. Knight allows you to leave."

The bioroid's eyes turned to Nadia for a moment after her words. They didn't seem particularly excited about the prospect of letting them leave, but they nodded.

"As Nadia said."

For now, at least, they thought, but didn't say out loud.

"..." There was a rather quiet deliberation on the part of the helmeted person at the offer that was presented. How much trouble were they actually in and was their power so absolute that they wouldn't be able to just walk away when they had them cornered? They would look down and consider for a moment before they reached to their helmet and started undoing the bits that held it firmly in place.

With a sigh, the person revealed did turn out to be a female with damp hair sticking for her forehead from being in a sweltering spacesuit all day. She also had cat ears too, admittedly.


Bree

"I'm Bree...Just Bree" She admitted on a guilty note.

[Jane Doe]

Jane gasps

"That can't be! It's impossible! It's....you...whoever you are."

[Nadia Avaline]

Nadia would regard the woman for some few seconds before nodding. "Thank you, Miss Bree." Looking then to Bill, regarding him for a moment. The whole process of her observing them took about a minute before she was satisfied and turns fully to Leo. Gauging his reaction by looking him in the eyes. However, she didn't exactly ask for permission when she gave a directive to Bree and Bill:

"Please, leave."

[Leo Knight]

Leo's eyes narrowed. "Club wasn't making enough? Needed to branch into kidnapping? Di stuck her neck out for you. Don't think she'd be into this." Actually, he wasn't positive, but the socialite seemed like she was nice, anyway.

He grimaced at Nadia, then shrugged.

Bree

Bree was perhaps about to take her steps out of here after being given permission but she did stop to reply to Leo first. "It made a lot of money but you think it doesn't take money to run, square off debts, or pay off Cassius's gang from taking the place from money? Those sorts of credits don't come out of thin air...I'm sorry there wasn't a cleaner way to do this but this was just a harmless way to make money. Well, was supposed to be anyway..."

There was a buzz that sounded off as a nearby airlock was put into use. A nearby screen, often to give an indication of the Lunar 'weather', showed a flying dropship overhead and some Argus Security soldiers had dropped down. They were now entering through the airlock, which took a bit to pressurize but not long enough to keep chatting. Bree saw this and quickly ran off with Bill following her.

[Debra Slee]

Perhaps just as Bree and Bill made their escape, Chief Slee and a few of her armoured squad would make an appearance after taking the same way the rescue squad had come from. Slee had her laser rifle at the ready but got the sense that the hostiles were long gone or put down with everyone standing about casually. She would stop her jog and run over with a frown on her face.

She scoffed out loud. "...What, they just run off on you or something?"

Slee wasn't so behind that she couldn't catch up with Bree and Bill, if she was told.

Nadia would perhaps manage to speak first, if only because she constantly considering things and then considering them again. Looking to Chief Slee she would give a very brief smile, not but a few steps away from Leo. With that smile, weary as she was, she would add, "Good afternoon, Chief Slee."

More than that, however, she did not add. Nadia had made her choice in all this but it wasn't hers alone to make.

Expression bland, Leo raised his hand, pointing. "They just left. You can catch them if you hurry."

Looking at Nadia and the others, he shrugged. "Seemed like the right move." It was enough of an explanation.

He looked more directly at Jane and Lina. "So... thanks." He said. "Let me know if I can help you out with something sometime." Another moment, and he shrugged again, looking back to Nadia. "You okay? They give you anything to eat, or drink?" He scowled off the direction they'd run. If they'd starved her, maybe it wasn't too late to put a bullet in them...

Giving a glance to Leo, Nadia would add, "Mr. Knight was sure to see to my safety. Protecting Miss Mills' investment. Avaline models are expensive, after all," she'd add as a point with no difference to her expression. Though there was a difference from the first time she'd said that to her. At first, it was a point of pride for Nadia. Now.. it was just something said to sneakily get under her skin a little. Spoken in that professional type-writer like tone.

Turning then to Leo more fully, she would shake her head. "Not that I recall. Much of the time was a blur. I am still a little confused after it all, I admit."

[Debra Slee]

"Got it," Debra would immediately take the lead that was given.

Some of the soldiers would finish the airlock process and found themselves inside finally. Debra would give a few motions. "Okay, you three stay here to secure the area and keep watch. The rest with me!"

She would head off in pursuit after the slavers while three lingered around as ordered, giving a check of the hall and the garage to see that there was no one just hiding around to make themselves useful.
